Google Ads for e-commerceShopping and Performance Max for Shopify and other online stores, measured by real revenue
I run Google Shopping, Performance Max and Search for online stores, with every purchase tracked at its real value. The product feed is cleaned up first and campaigns are structured around your margins and best-sellers, so budget goes to products that make money after ad costs. Management starts at $900 a month, with no setup fee.
How Google Ads works for online stores
For most online stores, Google Ads means Shopping ads and Performance Max: your products appear with an image, price and store name when people search for them, on Google Search, the Shopping tab, YouTube, Gmail and partner sites. The ads are built from your product feed in Google Merchant Center, so the feed matters as much as the campaigns.
The goal isn't more clicks or even more sales. It's profit: return on ad spend (ROAS) that works with your margins. That takes purchase tracking with real order values, a clean feed and campaigns that push best-sellers and high-margin products instead of spreading budget evenly across the catalog.
Everything an online store's ads depend on
Tracking, feed and campaigns handled together by one person, so nothing falls between agencies.
E-commerce tracking
Purchases with their real value, plus product views, add to cart and checkout steps, in Google Ads and GA4 through Tag Manager, with enhanced conversions where your platform allows it.
Merchant Center and feed
Merchant Center set up or cleaned up: disapprovals fixed, product titles, descriptions, categories and attributes optimized so the right products show for the right searches.
Shopping and Performance Max
Campaigns structured by margin, best-sellers and seasonality, with separate budgets for the products that drive profit and for new or slow-moving ones.
Search and brand
Search campaigns for high-intent product and category searches, with brand searches handled separately so Performance Max doesn't take credit for sales you'd get anyway.
Remarketing
Ads for cart abandoners, recent visitors and past buyers, with audiences built in GA4 and Google Ads.
ROAS reporting
A live dashboard with revenue, ROAS and cost per purchase by campaign and product group, and a monthly review of what's working and what changes next.
Where online store ad budgets usually leak
- Purchases tracked without value, or twice. Google can't bid for revenue it can't see, and duplicated purchases make ROAS look better than it is.
- Disapproved or weak products in the feed. Products that never show, or show for the wrong searches because titles and attributes are thin.
- One campaign for the whole catalog. Budget flows to whatever gets clicks, even products without the margin to pay for ads.
- Performance Max taking credit for brand searches. Returning customers searching your store name inflate results that aren't new sales.
- No product-level view. Without it, a few products quietly lose money every month while the account total looks fine.
- ROAS targets that ignore margins. A 4x ROAS is great for one store and a loss for another.
The free initial audit is a basic check of what I can see without any access: the tracking tags on your store and your live ads. The product feed, Merchant Center and your Google Ads account need read-only access, which is part of the Deep-Dive Audit.
Works with your store platform
Tracking and feeds are set up for your platform, with the apps and integrations it already uses where they work well.
Google Ads for Shopify
Google & YouTube app or a custom feed, Shopify's checkout events in Google Ads and GA4, and purchases tracked with order value and without duplicates.
Google Ads for WooCommerce
Product feed through a plugin or Merchant Center, purchase tracking through Tag Manager, tested with real test orders.
Other platforms
BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), Wix, Squarespace, Ecwid, PrestaShop and custom stores, set up to the same standard.
How much Google Ads management costs for an online store
Management starts at $900 a month. Your exact fixed price follows the free initial audit and depends on the catalog size, the number of markets and the platforms you advertise on.

Ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google from your own card. I never mark up or handle your ad budget.
Fixed the tracking. The store got busier.
A hardware store was paying for Google Ads without knowing whether the ads brought anyone through the door. I rebuilt conversion tracking from 1 action to 9, added call tracking and optimized the account and campaigns.

Should an online store use Shopping or Performance Max?
Usually both, for different jobs. Performance Max reaches more places and works well for best-sellers once tracking is solid, while Standard Shopping gives more control over products and search terms. The right mix depends on your catalog, margins and data, and I set it up after the free initial audit.
What is a good ROAS for an online store?
It depends on your margins. A store with 60% margins can grow profitably at a ROAS that would lose money for a store with 20% margins. I set targets from your break-even ROAS, so the account aims for profit instead of a generic number.
Do you fix Google Merchant Center disapprovals?
Yes. Feed and Merchant Center work is included: fixing disapproved products and account issues, and optimizing titles, descriptions, categories and attributes so products show for the right searches.
Do you run Google Ads for Shopify stores?
Yes. I work with Shopify and Shopify Plus, as well as WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace and custom platforms. Tracking is set up so purchases are counted once, with their real value.
How do you set up Google Ads and GA4 tracking on Shopify?
Through Shopify's own Google & YouTube app or custom pixels in Customer Events, depending on what your store already uses. Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads both receive purchases with order value, the setup is checked with test orders, and I make sure no app or old theme code counts the same purchase twice.
How much should an online store spend on Google Ads?
Enough for Google to learn which products and searches convert, which depends on your prices, conversion rate and catalog. After the free initial audit I recommend a starting budget and how to split it between product groups.
Can you also run Microsoft Shopping ads?
Yes. Microsoft Shopping campaigns can use the same product feed, imported into Microsoft Merchant Center, and reach shoppers on Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo. It's available as a Microsoft Ads add-on from $250 a month.
